Africa Mural Project

Part 1

I thought the power point was awesome, and are amazing because its not like i live in the safari and i see stuff like this everyday. makes me feel like there's a bigger world out there.
I like this photo because elephants are pretty cool, also the scenery and simplicity makes the subject stand out and it just caught my eye.
simplicity was used because you clearly know what the subject is. avoiding mergers was used even thought its black and white, the sky is very dark making the elephant stand out more.

He used a Pentax 67II with only two fixed lenses.

The photos are his elegy to these beautiful creatures, to this wrenchingly beautiful world that is steadily, tragically vanishing before our eyes.

One of his goals and kinda hopes was to record a visually poetic last testament to the wild animals and places there before they are gone at the hand of man.

"To me, every creature, human or nonhuman, has an equal right to live, and this feeling, this belief that every animal and I are equal, affects me every time I frame an animal in my camera."

Part 2

1. What theme that we could take here at school could we do a series of these panels to place around the school?
We could do a ski mask series. I think it could bring up cool questions about identity and stereotyping.

2. Should we use phones only, or should we open it up to our regular cameras for those people that don't have camera phones?
I think we should open it up to both because some people don't have phones and all the other stuff that you don't get with a smart phone like adjustable focus and shutter.

 3. Where would you want to put the mural on campus?
The cafeteria seems like the best place Because everyone goes at some point.
